Sunday in Acadia National Park

After awaking, we made a fire for bacon, eggs, coffee and doughboys.  Here Annie is trying to get warm.

Good Morning, Lucy!  We have eggs, bacon, and hot chocolate.

Doughboys being prepared.

We packed up the site and headed to the seawall, again.  We sought out tide pools at low tide.

Here, Lucy is coaxing out a periwinkle by humming.
Can you see his little tentacles coming out?
Somewhere in this picture is a rather large crab.  Can you find him?

After leaving our site we headed to a hiking trail called Ship Harbor.  It was a nice hike with relatively little complications.

Here Lucy found a caterpillar.  The next picture she found a home for him after he bit her.

Here is the end of the trail.  The following pictures are from the overlook of Ship Harbor.

 Back on the trail...
Here we visit Bass Harbor Head Light.  Note to self ... the girls don't care about lighthouses...  Not many pictures as they were bored and hungry so it was a quick stop.

There were no showers at the campsite.  This was about 1/2 mile away.  Multi-function facility...

We stopped at lunch in Southwest Harbor.  This is a haunt of Martha Stewart.  She recommends their pies and crab rolls.  I had a lobster roll (best evah!) and blueberry pie a la mode.  It was REALLY good.

Annie wanted to be warm.  It was cool and breezy in the shade.

Lucy had blueberry pie, too.  Here is her first bite of it.  I think it might have been dramatized.

Annie had raspberry chocolate chip ice cream instead.

Here Annie and Spencer hang out on the street while Lucy and I visited an art gallery.

We returned home through Portsmouth, NH by way of the newly renovated Memorial Bridge.
