Coffee Milk

So, the question is: Do you know what Coffee Milk is?  Spencer and I didn't until this last week.  We assumed that coffee milk was a mixture of whatever the local dairy had left over after filling bottles - a little cream, a little whole, a little skim... you get the picture.  However, we have since found that it is slightly more (and less) complicated than that.

In the grocery you can buy the above -- Coffee syrup.  You make coffee milk like you would chocolate or strawberry milk; stirring the syrup into the milk.  This is a Rhode Island favorite and in 1988, Garelick farms coffee milk outsold chocolate milk 9 to 1!

According to Yankee Magazine this is one of the top 75 things all New Englanders should do.  When you come visit, make sure you ask where our coffee syrup is!
