Meeting Ariel

To start the story, all little girls at Disney World are referred to by EVERYONE who works for the park as Princess. Lucy got to Ariel and was called Starfish. Well, it was a hit with Lucy.

We stood in line for about 1 hour to meet The Little Mermaid. Lucy didn't know what to expect (neither did I) and played with a little girl in the line and played in the Grotto while we waited. We got to the front of the line and Lucy was dumbstruck. Ariel asked her if she was having a good time. There was a nod. Ariel asked her if she had a favorite ride. Again, a nod. Ariel asked her the name of her favorite ride...Time passed. Ariel offered up, "Dumbo?" Another nod.

Ariel told Lucy a joke that Dumbo told her...What do you call an elephant that is tossed into the ocean? Swimming trunks! Lucy thought that was the funniest thing she had ever heard. We took pictures and moved along (after Ariel referred to Annie as a guppy).
